Citadel Credit Union has announced the appointment of Bonnie Levitt as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). With more than 20 years of experience in human resources leadership, Levitt will lead the organization’s enterprise-wide people strategy as Citadel continues its strategic growth following its recent charter conversion.
In her new role, Levitt will oversee Citadel’s comprehensive talent strategy, including leadership and career development, succession planning, performance management, organizational effectiveness, total rewards, and employee engagement initiatives. She will also play a key role in strengthening the company’s culture and aligning workforce strategies with the organization’s long-term business objectives.

Levitt joins Citadel from U.S. Bank, where she served as a senior Talent Consultant supporting national Asset Management and Commercial Banking teams. During her tenure, she worked closely with senior executives to develop and implement strategic HR initiatives related to compensation planning, organizational change, talent development, leadership coaching, and employee engagement. She also led the successful integration of more than 200 employees following a corporate acquisition and received U.S. Bank’s highest internal recognition for excellence in strategic execution.

Levitt holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Georgetown University. She also maintains several professional certifications, including Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credentials, along with specialized certifications in anti-racism leadership and Hogan assessment facilitation.
Levitt succeeds Mike Alieo, who is retiring after more than four years with Citadel Credit Union. His tenure contributed significantly to the organization’s HR initiatives and workforce development efforts. The appointment reflects Citadel’s ongoing commitment to leadership development, talent growth, and fostering a culture built on opportunity, transparency, and respect as the organization enters its next stage of expansion.
