WorkWhile has launched WorkWhile Coach, an AI-powered talent agent designed to better assess hourly workers’ skills and connect them with a broader range of job opportunities across its marketplace.
Unlike traditional hiring systems that focus on filling a single role for one employer at a specific time, WorkWhile operates a multi-employer platform that matches workers to opportunities across various industries and job types. The new AI Coach engages workers in guided conversations to uncover their full range of experience and capabilities including transferable skills they may not have considered then uses those insights to recommend suitable roles.

CEO Simon Khalaf said the tool is built to expand access to opportunity rather than filter candidates out. He noted that many hiring systems are optimized to eliminate applicants, while WorkWhile Coach is designed to identify what workers can do and align them with positions where those skills are valued.
The launch comes amid broader concerns about automation in hiring. Surveys indicate that 45% to 60% of job seekers now use AI tools to create or refine resumes. However, many hiring managers report dissatisfaction with generic, AI-generated applications, often rejecting them due to lack of personalization.
WorkWhile Coach aims to address this gap by moving beyond résumé-based screening. Its first deployment will support the company’s new WorkWhile Certified Professional Program for hospitality workers. Through interactive assessments, the system evaluates practical knowledge and skills rather than relying solely on written credentials. Workers who meet established benchmarks receive a certification badge that remains attached to their WorkWhile profile. Final hiring decisions, however, remain with human managers.

Alex Long, Head of Product for the WorkWhile Marketplace, said the tool helps surface abilities that traditional resumes or interviews may overlook, creating a more complete profile of each worker over time.
The announcement follows strong company growth, with WorkWhile reporting 110% revenue growth over the past nine months and continued expansion across stadiums, convention centers, and universities throughout the United States.
