Careerz Group has acquired all assets of DreamJob Discovery from Ken Steven, including the book DreamJob Discovery: How to Find a Job That Fuels Your Passion and Inspires Your Purpose and the proprietary DreamJob Type Indicator (DJTI). The move expands Careerz Group’s portfolio of assessment-driven hiring, retention, and career development solutions.
The DJTI is positioned as a career assessment specifically designed to identify the types of work that bring professionals genuine enjoyment and fulfillment. Developed over 16 years of research and refinement, the tool focuses on what Steven describes as “job passion types” the workflow processes that naturally energize and engage individuals rather than simply measuring aptitude or skill.

Steven said traditional assessments often evaluate what people are good at, but not necessarily what they love doing, a distinction he believes is essential for long-term job satisfaction. With the acquisition, he noted that the tool can now reach a broader audience and support more individuals in finding meaningful, purpose-driven work.
The DJTI framework identifies 21 distinct DreamJob Types™ organized within a proprietary 4Ts model. According to Careerz Group, this structure provides employers, employees, and coaches with deeper insight into passion alignment alongside other data points such as personality, behavior, strengths, and values.

The acquisition also addresses a broader workforce engagement challenge. Recent global workforce data indicates that a significant share of employees remain disengaged, contributing to productivity losses. By integrating passion-alignment insights into its existing assessment tools and AI-assisted guidance, Careerz Group aims to help organizations reduce costly mis-hires and improve retention.
Melissa Fisher, CEO of Careerz Group, said the addition of DJTI strengthens the company’s ability to provide a comprehensive view of candidate and employee fit covering aptitude, personality, behavioral style, strengths, values, and now job passion type.
The combined platform is designed to deliver benefits across multiple stakeholders: employees gain clearer direction for career decisions, employers can better align candidates with roles that drive both performance and engagement, and coaches can leverage the structured 4Ts framework Truths, Type, Traits, Transition to guide clients toward more fulfilling career paths.
