RefAssured Partners with ID.me to Strengthen Identity Verification in Staffing

March 2, 2026
Event

RefAssured has introduced a new advanced fraud prevention solution in partnership with ID.me, aimed at helping staffing agencies verify candidate identity early in the hiring lifecycle.

The new integration embeds identity verification and authentication directly into staffing workflows, allowing agencies to confirm candidate legitimacy before submission to clients. By incorporating verification at the reference-check stage rather than at the end of the placement process the solution helps reduce risk, protect client relationships, and prevent fraudulent candidates from entering talent pools.

As AI-generated resumes, deepfakes, and coordinated fraud activity become more prevalent, staffing firms face growing challenges in distinguishing qualified candidates from manipulated or false profiles. Traditional fraud checks often occur too late in the hiring cycle, increasing costs and damaging trust if issues are discovered after candidate submission.

RefAssured’s new solution addresses this gap by combining early-stage identity verification with authenticated reference intelligence. The platform integrates with major staffing applicant tracking systems (ATS), ensuring verification occurs within existing workflows without slowing placement speed. Agencies can confirm both a candidate’s identity and past performance before advancing them to clients.

Brian Vesce, CEO of RefAssured, said the partnership tackles what has become an industry-wide issue, particularly in high-volume staffing environments where speed and scale increase exposure to fraud risk. By pairing identity verification with performance validation, agencies can strengthen hiring integrity while simplifying operational processes.

Taylor Liggett, Chief Growth Officer at ID.me, noted that ID.me’s digital identity wallet already used by over 160 million individuals enables fast, secure authentication with minimal friction, supporting staffing agencies in maintaining hiring velocity.

Since its launch in 2023, RefAssured has generated more than 1.5 million reference , representing over 30 million structured data points on candidate skills, behaviors, and performance indicators. Enterprise staffing firms including Kelly Services and LocumTenens.com are among those leveraging RefAssured’s automated reference checking technology.

The enhanced fraud prevention capability reinforces RefAssured’s strategy of delivering interoperable, staffing-focused solutions that combine verified identity with performance insight to support more secure, data-driven hiring decisions.
