Event

Centro Benefits Research has announced a new API integration with Unum, expanding its broker–carrier platform with real-time request-for-proposal (RFP) and quoting capabilities.

The integration brings Unum into Centro’s growing carrier ecosystem and is designed to simplify the ancillary benefits quoting process for brokers and insurers. By enabling secure, straight-through processing of complex and customizable data, the partnership aims to improve speed, accuracy, and efficiency while reducing turnaround times for group customers.

Treg Balding, President of Centro, said the addition of Unum’s RFP and quoting API represents a major step forward in the company’s digital strategy. He noted that deeper connectivity between brokers and carriers helps unlock operational efficiencies and supports further automation across the benefits marketplace.

Unum becomes one of seven carriers currently integrated into Centro’s platform, which is designed to modernize traditionally manual insurance processes through automation and connected data. The platform supports brokers with a unified system for ancillary RFP marketing, consulting, employee communications, and technology-enabled services.

Looking ahead, Centro plans to expand the partnership by integrating Unum’s policy API, further advancing automation and strengthening the digital infrastructure supporting broker and carrier collaboration.
