UCLA Anderson Executive Education has announced the launch of its Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) Program, a four-month learning experience designed to help senior and aspiring HR leaders strengthen their strategic, analytical, and leadership capabilities. Developed in collaboration with Emeritus, a global education technology provider focused on expanding access to high quality learning, the program is scheduled to begin in April 2026.
The program is designed to address the evolving responsibilities of HR leaders in today’s rapidly changing business environment. Organizations are navigating technological disruption, shifting workforce expectations, and the growing influence of artificial intelligence in decision-making. As a result, HR executives are expected to play a more strategic role by aligning people strategies with business objectives while using data and advanced technologies to guide workforce planning and organizational transformation.

The Chief Human Resources Officer Program aims to equip participants with the tools needed to address these challenges. Through the curriculum, HR leaders will learn how to leverage analytics and AI-driven insights, develop innovative talent strategies, and foster inclusive workplace cultures that support organizational growth. The program also emphasizes strategic thinking, financial acumen, and leadership capabilities to help participants influence executive-level decisions and deliver measurable business impact.
Structured as a three phase learning journey, the program blends flexible online learning with immersive in person experiences. Participants will complete live online modules that cover key HR leadership topics, followed by a five-day on campus immersion at the UCLA Anderson School of Management in Los Angeles. The program also includes collaborative projects, case simulations, and applied workshops that allow participants to explore real-world HR challenges and apply innovative solutions within their organizations.

The program aims to help participants translate insights from data, AI, and human behavior into practical strategies that drive organizational performance.
Mike Malefakis, president of university partnerships at Emeritus, emphasized that the program reflects a shared commitment between Emeritus and UCLA Anderson to prepare future-ready HR leaders. By combining strategic leadership development with technological insights and people-centered approaches, the initiative aims to support HR professionals as they lead workforce transformation and shape the future of work within their organizations.
