Event

Workday, Inc, a provider of enterprise AI platforms for managing people, finances, and operations, has announced that Fairview Health Services has selected Workday’s full suite of AI-powered HR, finance, and supply chain solutions. The healthcare system plans to replace several legacy business systems and build a more modern, flexible digital platform to support its workforce and patient community.

Fairview Health Services is launching a multi-year transformation initiative aimed at modernizing its core operational functions. As part of this effort, the organization will transition its workforce of approximately 34,000 employees to a unified system that integrates data, workflows, and AI-powered insights. The new platform is designed to provide employees with a more intuitive experience while improving operational efficiency across the organization.

According to Sabu Kallumpurathu Bose, Vice President of Digital Transformation at Fairview Health Services, the initiative reflects the organization’s broader effort to strengthen its operational foundation. By bringing HR, finance, and supply chain processes onto a single platform, Fairview aims to simplify daily work processes, improve consistency, and help caregivers remain focused on delivering high quality patient care. Bose also noted that the organization will continue to rely on essential electronic health record systems such as Epic while integrating modern enterprise technology to support administrative and operational functions.

The adoption of Workday’s platform will allow Fairview to streamline how information flows across departments and improve decision making through unified data and analytics. Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) will centralize employee data and support more efficient workforce management processes. Meanwhile, Workday Financial Management will provide leaders with improved visibility into financial performance and organizational resources.

In addition, Fairview will implement Workday Supply Chain Management to gain greater transparency and efficiency in managing the flow of supplies that support clinical operations. By improving supply chain visibility, the healthcare system aims to ensure that essential materials and resources are available when needed while optimizing operational costs.

Michael Hofherr, Senior Vice President and Group General Manager for Industry at Workday, stated that the partnership will help Fairview simplify operations and enable teams to focus more on supporting caregivers and patients. With HR, finance, and supply chain functions operating within a unified system, organizations can make faster decisions and reduce administrative complexity.

Fairview’s decision reflects a broader trend among healthcare organizations adopting modern cloud platforms to improve operational efficiency and workforce management. By implementing Workday’s integrated enterprise solutions, Fairview aims to create a more connected and data-driven operational environment that supports both its employees and the communities it serves.
