Kira Teams Up with Anthropic to Advance AI-Driven Learning and Skills Assessment

March 9, 2026
Event

Kira, the developer of an AI-native operating system designed for education, has announced a new integration with Anthropic, the AI research and safety company behind the Claude AI model. The collaboration introduces new capabilities for generating complete courses, measuring learner skills, and delivering personalized learning interventions across K–12 education, higher education, and workforce training programs.

Through the integration, Claude’s AI capabilities are embedded directly within Kira’s platform, enabling educators and organizations to automatically generate fully structured courses. These courses can span a wide range of subjects from high school biology and AP U.S. History to college-level mathematics and corporate learning programs such as data literacy training.

Each generated course is organized with a clear learning structure, including scope, sequence, pacing, and prerequisite mapping aligned with educational standards. The platform also creates integrated assessments across the entire learning cycle. Diagnostic assessments evaluate baseline knowledge, formative assessments track progress throughout the course, and summative assessments measure mastery at the end of learning modules. All assessments are automatically generated, assigned to learners, and graded within the platform.

A key feature of the integration is Kira’s skills measurement engine, which tracks learner progress at a granular level. Every interaction a learner has with the course material is mapped to specific competencies, allowing the platform to build continuously updated skills profiles. These profiles help educators and administrators identify which skills learners have mastered and where additional support may be required.

The system uses this data to deliver personalized learning interventions. Rather than simply presenting performance data to educators, the platform identifies skill gaps and recommends targeted support or instructional adjustments in real time.

Andrea Pasinetti, CEO and co-founder of Kira, said the integration represents a shift away from adding isolated AI features to traditional learning platforms. Instead, the technology embeds AI directly into the architecture of course design, assessment, and skill analysis. According to Pasinetti, this approach enables the platform to generate complete standards-aligned courses while providing the detailed skill insights needed to support personalized instruction.

The platform also supports standards alignment across different educational contexts. For K–12 and higher education programs, course content can align with state standards, Common Core guidelines, AP frameworks, and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). In professional learning environments, courses can be aligned with industry competency frameworks and organizational skill taxonomies.

Drew Bent, Education Lead at Anthropic, noted that AI can significantly improve learning outcomes when implemented responsibly and designed with educators in mind. He explained that integrating Claude into Kira’s platform enables a more impactful use of AI by supporting course creation, skill tracking, and personalized instruction within a unified learning system.

By combining AI-driven course development with detailed skills analytics, the Kira and Anthropic integration aims to support educators, institutions, and organizations in delivering scalable, personalized learning experiences across a wide range of educational settings.
