Heidrick & Struggles has appointed Dr. Christian Frank and Mike Schwanke as Managing Directors of its Interim Management business in Germany, Atreus. In their new roles, both leaders will take immediate responsibility for the unit’s operations and strategic direction within the country.
The appointments reflect the firm’s focus on maintaining continuity for clients, executives, and employees across the DACH region. Atreus founders Dr. Harald Linné and Rainer Nagel will remain part of the leadership team through the end of 2026 to support a smooth transition.
Germany remains a key market for Heidrick & Struggles’ executive interim strategy and a central component of its global on-demand talent platform. The new leadership is expected to guide the next phase of growth and strengthen the company’s position in the German and broader European interim management market.

Since acquiring Atreus in 2023, Heidrick & Struggles has expanded its interim management footprint across Germany and Europe, reinforcing its presence in the executive interim segment. The leadership transition represents another step in scaling the firm’s capabilities in one of Europe’s largest economies.
Mike Schwanke brings more than two decades of leadership experience across general management, marketing, sales, digital transformation, and commercial strategy. Prior to this role, he led the Consumer Goods & Retail industry practice at Atreus.
