Employ Inc., a provider of intelligent, people-focused hiring solutions across JazzHR, Lever, and Jobvite, has announced the appointment of Jerry Jao as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Jao is a seasoned entrepreneur who has founded three companies, including ReSci (Retention Science), an AI-driven marketing and personalization platform acquired by Constant Contact in 2020. Earlier in his career, Jao was also a customer of Employ’s Lever platform, using it for six years. That experience gave him direct insight into how the company’s solutions help hiring teams streamline workflows, stay organized, and operate more efficiently.
Commenting on his new role, Jao emphasized the evolving nature of talent acquisition. He noted that hiring must be faster, more data-informed, and more dependable than ever before. At the same time, he underscored that recruitment remains fundamentally human, and technology should enhance not replace the relationships at its core. He said this balance between innovation and human connection is what attracted him to Employ’s mission.

Drawing on his background in building and scaling AI-powered businesses, Jao highlighted the opportunity to accelerate artificial intelligence capabilities across Employ’s portfolio in the emerging generative AI era. He believes deeper AI integration can help customers move more quickly, make better-informed hiring decisions, and create stronger candidate experiences. Beyond business outcomes, he stressed that improving hiring processes ultimately supports individuals in accessing new career opportunities.

Jao’s professional background also includes leadership roles at Clear Channel Radio KPMG LLP, and Morgan Stanley. He currently serves as an independent director at FIGS, Inc., where he chairs the Audit Committee and sits on the Compensation Committee. Jao earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, graduating as a full-tuition Alumni Scholar.
