Strategic Acquisition Unites Leaders in Workforce Engagement to Strengthen Market Leadership and Unlock New Innovation.

WorkStep, a holistic frontline employee engagement platform, announced its acquisition of WorkHound, an employee feedback management platform built for the supply chain. This acquisition strengthens WorkStep’s ability to empower the frontline workforce by enhancing its AI-driven engagement capabilities, deepening its presence in trucking and logistics, and accelerating innovation through a combined team of industry experts.

“At WorkStep, our mission has always been to make the frontline a better place to work."

With nearly a decade of hands-on experience partnering with supply chain leaders, WorkHound brings deep operational expertise and institutional knowledge that will reinforce WorkStep’s expansion across all segments of the frontline workforce. “Most frontline teams are operating in environments where decisions are made about them—not with them. That’s a recipe for disengagement,” said Dan Johnston, CEO and co-founder of WorkStep. “At WorkStep, our mission has always been to make the frontline a better place to work. By acquiring WorkHound, we’re doubling down on that commitment, creating the most comprehensive workforce engagement platform on the market. Together, we’ll help companies listen at scale, act with insight, and give every frontline worker the voice and visibility they deserve.” HR Technology Insights: Hyatt Appoints Kristin Oliver as New Chief Human Resources Officer Founded in 2015, WorkHound set out to elevate the frontline experience for workers in logistics and transportation. The company’s innovative platform, which combines real-time feedback, AI-powered sentiment analysis, and actionable workforce analytics, has transformed how supply chain leaders engage with their workforce. Now, as part of the WorkStep ecosystem, WorkHound’s existing customers will benefit from an expanded suite of engagement capabilities, including more survey types, deeper AI capabilities, advanced predictive analytics, and improved data portability. “As a customer who has benefited from both WorkStep's holistic employee engagement platform and WorkHound's real-time driver feedback, we see this acquisition as a powerful step forward for the industry and are confident that the combined strength of WorkStep and WorkHound will provide immense value,” said Joey Ballard, EVP of People and Safety at Covenant Logistics. “For nearly a decade, we’ve helped leaders listen to their frontline teams and take action to improve communication, culture, and retention,” said Max Farrell, co-founder and CEO of WorkHound. “WorkStep shares our mission of empowering workers and has built the industry’s leading AI-powered employee engagement platform to transform worker satisfaction and retention. By coming together, we expand what’s possible—with better tools, stronger teams, and greater results.” Following WorkStep’s $25 million Series B funding round in 2022, the acquisition of WorkHound marks the company’s next major growth milestone. With a joint roadmap already in motion, the two teams are committed to delivering a seamless experience for customers and an even stronger platform for the future.
