Autire Secures Investment from Serent Capital to Expand Cloud-Based Audit Platform

March 4, 2026
Event

Serent Capital has announced a strategic investment in Autire, a cloud-based and AI-powered platform designed to help CPA firms manage employee benefit plan (EBP) audits more efficiently.

Employee benefit plan audits covering retirement programs such as 401(k) plans, 403(b) plans, and ESOP plans are among the most specialized and compliance-heavy areas within the accounting profession. As regulatory requirements grow and accounting firms face staffing and capacity constraints, many still rely on fragmented tools and manual processes. Autire was developed to modernize this environment by centralizing workflows and automating audit-related tasks.

Founded by Brian Price, Autire’s platform was built by CPA professionals with direct experience conducting EBP audits. The software integrates workflow management, automated data processing, and structured documentation into a unified system, helping accounting firms standardize audit processes, reduce administrative workload, and improve overall engagement consistency.

According to Stewart Lynn, Partner at Serent Capital, the firm identified Autire as an emerging innovator in a market historically dependent on manual workflows. He noted that the platform combines advanced technology and artificial intelligence with deep domain expertise to improve operational efficiency and deliver stronger outcomes for audit firms and their clients.

Price explained that Autire’s vision was not simply to improve existing processes but to rethink the underlying infrastructure supporting EBP audits. By building the platform alongside accounting practitioners, the company aims to create a scalable solution that addresses the real-world challenges firms face in managing complex regulatory engagements.

Through the partnership, Autire will leverage Serent Capital’s Growth Team to accelerate product innovation and business expansion. The collaboration will focus on advancing AI capabilities, enhancing product development, strengthening go-to-market strategies, and supporting executive recruitment and long-term strategic planning.

The investment reflects increasing demand for specialized vertical software solutions within professional services industries. By combining capital investment with operational expertise, Serent Capital aims to help Autire scale its platform while continuing to modernize the way CPA firms manage employee benefit plan audits.
