Firstup, a provider of intelligent workforce communication and engagement platforms, has introduced Firstup AI, a new suite of artificial intelligence capabilities designed to help organizations improve communication, employee engagement, and operational outcomes across the enterprise.
The new AI suite is designed to support a wide range of workforce priorities, including safety, compliance, onboarding, retention, productivity, and organizational culture. By embedding AI directly into the Firstup platform, the company aims to help employees access information, complete tasks, and stay connected more efficiently particularly those working in frontline or deskless roles.
Firstup’s AI capabilities are evolving beyond traditional generative tools to include agentic AI, which can anticipate user needs, take actions within connected systems, and help drive measurable business outcomes.

Bill Schuh, CEO of Firstup, explained that many enterprise AI tools have historically been designed for office-based employees, while frontline and mobile workers often lack the same level of digital support. According to Schuh, Firstup AI is designed to meet employees wherever they work, enabling them to access critical information and complete tasks without unnecessary friction.
The Firstup AI suite is organized into five core capabilities that support workforce communication and operational efficiency. AI Search allows employees to ask questions in natural language and receive immediate answers without navigating multiple systems or contacting HR. The system connects with enterprise platforms such as Workday, ADP, SharePoint, Google Drive, and ServiceNow, enabling workers to quickly retrieve relevant information such as benefits details or PTO balances.

AI Content Creator helps communications teams draft and optimize internal messages. Acting as an intelligent assistant, it can transform ideas into structured, publication-ready content, assist with campaign development, and provide writing improvements. The feature also includes tools such as Comment Assist, which helps ensure internal discussions remain constructive and professional.
AI Insights provides analytics that help organizations understand how communication campaigns are performing. The tool analyzes employee engagement data and sentiment from comments, while future updates will allow leaders to ask natural-language questions about engagement trends and workforce communication patterns.
Two additional capabilities are planned for release soon. AI Actions will enable employees to complete tasks directly through conversational interactions with enterprise systems, such as submitting PTO requests or accessing HR services without switching applications. AI Audience Builder will allow communication teams to create targeted employee segments using natural language prompts, improving the precision and effectiveness of workforce messaging.
Cheryl Chavez, Chief Product Officer at Firstup, said the company’s approach to AI focuses on understanding employee behavior, engagement patterns, and enterprise data to deliver more personalized and context-aware experiences. The platform operates on Firstup’s existing enterprise-grade security infrastructure. Organizational data is encrypted and not used to train external AI models, and responses are generated only from verified company content. Role-based permissions and administrative controls ensure that information shared through the platform remains secure and compliant with company policies.
