HelloBoss, one of Asia’s fastest-growing AI recruitment platforms developed by Tokyo-based startup NGA, announced today that it has closed its Series A funding round, led by global media powerhouse Bertelsmann—marking the German conglomerate’s first-ever strategic investment in Japan. The round also features participation from BAI Capital, known for backing more than 40 unicorns and 17 publicly listed companies.
The new capital will fuel HelloBoss’s international expansion and accelerate the rollout of its flagship innovation: the HelloBoss AI Agent, a patented, next-generation automation engine that streamlines hiring for both employers and jobseekers.
Since debuting in early 2023, HelloBoss has quickly become one of Asia’s largest AI-enabled job platforms. In just two years, the company has achieved 10x revenue growth, operating with a compact team of just 20 employees and earning the trust of global enterprise brands including Marriott, Dior, and Suntory.
The new funding round builds on HelloBoss’s earlier Pre-A raise, which included international investors such as Yunqi Partners. Together, these investments demonstrate growing global confidence in HelloBoss’s technological foundation, rapid traction, and potential to reshape the future of hiring.
Through its investor network—alongside strategic partners like U.S. HR tech decacorn Deel—HelloBoss plans to bolster product development, scale its engineering and scientific talent, and accelerate expansion into new markets.

Although the platform was designed from the outset to operate worldwide, HelloBoss selected Japan, one of the most complex and competitive HR tech markets, as its initial launchpad.
“Japan proved the model,” said Alex Wang, CEO of NGA.
“Now we’re scaling HelloBoss to become the global default for AI hiring. With a world-class team—including Dr. Yanbo Xue, our Chief Scientific Advisor from a $10B HR tech leader—and deep local sales expertise, we’re ready to advance our international growth strategy.”
Wang, a Tokyo-based entrepreneur of Chinese heritage, previously spent five years at Japan’s iconic Recruit Group, famed for acquiring Indeed in 2012. His career includes founding multiple successful ventures, ultimately leading to the creation of HelloBoss.
HelloBoss’s new AI Agent aims to reinvent how people search for jobs and how companies hire—making advanced recruitment intelligence accessible to both sides of the market.
